Mimicry is the best form of flattery(?)

Journal Entry: Tue Jul 29, 2008, 7:22 PM
Recently I have been alerted of a drawing that bears a striking resemblance to one mine (though it's a very old one). I'm not mad, really, I just would like an opinion.... how close is this [link] to this [link] ?

Admittedly some things are different, but if you notice... the red curtain and the gold cord holding it back, the shape of the window, the rounded bricks of the walls, the pose Hermione is in, the location she is in, the action she is doing.. I'm just wondering if she's possibly based it on mine. If it isn't... I'm mistaken. If it is... I just wish that I got a teensy ounce of some sort of recognition :tears: Either way, well done.

And yes, I'm well aware that mine is crappy. I WAS 15!! LEAVE ME ALOOONE *sob*

Put this in your sig if you think rock, paper, scissors solves everything.

<cue shrug>

I think that even if she did get an idea from it, and even if she didn't credit you for a reference or anything, you and malena-sama have very different and well developed styles of how to do stuff ^_^

And THAT is why we will always need a standing army.

yeah they'r similar, but at the same time I don't think it;s impposibly for someone to draw something very similar on accident, but either way yeah I'd take it as a compliment^^

in all seriousness, it looks like a typical hermoine nerd pose, so yea..kinda not suprised other people would have a similar idea

Mmm I'm sorry, but I don't think this is plagiarism. It's the typical Hermione nerdy moment, and I'm sure that if you look out, there will be more like this.

They do have similar poses and actions, but there are obvious differences; seems to me, though, that the pose is a very Hermione-esque pose, wouldn't you say? Seems that this pose is usually found in fanfiction as well, with some other, usually male, character performing an internal monologue about how she's changed and what not. I wouldn't worry too much about it, I don't think the copy of stance was intentional.
